Helping Those in Need

Here is just a sample of some of the organizations that have benefitted from the Society’s commitment to improve the lives of those in our community.

Since 1999, The Sandy Springs Society has awarded multiple grants to the Community Action Center, the only agency in Sandy Springs that focuses on the prevention of homelessness and the provision of basic needs to individuals and families. Funds from the Society have enabled the Community Action Center to purchase commercial freezers, to install technology upgrades and to provide food, clothing, toys, holiday baskets and emergency assistance to families undergoing life or economic challenges.

The Society helped the women of the Mary Hall Freedom House, a comprehensive residential recovery program, to reclaim their lives. Donations from the Society to Mary Hall Freedom House provided MARTA transportation cards for residents and supported work training programs, after school programs and day care programs.

Grants to the Sandy Springs Mission funded transportation for children to an after school enrichment program and helped to support summer programs for underprivileged children.

Senior Services North Fulton
used grants from The Society to purchase equipment to launch a program to provide meals for elderly Sandy Springs residents recently discharged from the hospital. Other grants funded in-home services and transportation for elderly residents who are home bound.

Each year, grants are awarded through The Sandy Springs Society\’s Philanthropic Committee to charities that have a significant impact on quality of life of the residents of Sandy Springs.
